<div>On Monday, August 18, 2025, at 6:00 AM, the life of Diana Rodríguez (35) changed forever.

<div>That day began like any other at the bakery in Cúcuta where she had worked for more than 10 years. Diana, a single mother and the backbone of her family, arrived on time as always to serve customers, clean, and help prepare bread and pastries. Her greatest motivation has always been her 5-year-old daughter, whom she has lovingly raised on her own.

<div>But in a matter of seconds, everything turned into tragedy.
</div>
<div>While trying to change a gas cylinder while the equipment was still on, a terrible explosion occurred, setting much of the bakery on fire. Diana and a coworker received the worst impact. She suffered third-degree burns on her hands, neck, and face, and since that day she has been in intensive care—fighting to survive and rebuild her life.

<div>Today, Diana faces a long and painful road ahead. She will need multiple surgeries and a lengthy recovery process. Her hands—the very ones she used to work and provide for her daughter—were severely burned, leaving her unable to return to work. This means she can no longer cover even the most basic expenses: rent, food, her daughter’s schooling, and the care of her elderly parents, including her mother who suffers from Alzheimer’s.

<div>Diana is a hardworking, strong, and loving woman who has never asked for help for herself. For years she woke up before dawn to provide for her little girl and support her parents. Today, for the first time, she is the one who needs us. And her 5-year-old daughter needs her mother back—healthy, safe, and full of hope.

<div>Ese día comenzó como cualquier otro en la panadería de Cúcuta donde había trabajado por más de 10 años. Diana, madre soltera y pilar de su familia, llegó puntual como siempre para atender a los clientes, limpiar y ayudar en la preparación de panes y pasteles. Su mayor motivación siempre ha sido su hija de 5 años, a quien ha criado con amor y dedicación.

<div>Pero en cuestión de segundos, todo se convirtió en tragedia.
</div>
<div>Al intentar cambiar un cilindro de gas mientras los equipos seguían encendidos, se produjo una terrible explosión que incendió gran parte de la panadería. Diana y un compañero recibieron el mayor impacto. Ella sufrió quemaduras de tercer grado en las manos, el cuello y el rostro, y desde ese día permanece en cuidados intensivos, luchando por sobrevivir y reconstruir su vida.

<div>Hoy, Diana enfrenta un camino largo y doloroso. Necesitará múltiples cirugías y un proceso de recuperación prolongado. Sus manos —las mismas con las que trabajaba para sostener a su hija— quedaron gravemente afectadas, lo que la deja sin posibilidad de volver a trabajar. Esto significa que ya no puede cubrir ni siquiera los gastos más básicos: arriendo, comida, la educación de su hija y el cuidado de sus padres mayores, incluida su madre, que padece Alzheimer.

<div>Diana es una mujer trabajadora, fuerte y amorosa, que nunca pidió ayuda para sí misma. Durante años se levantó antes del amanecer para sostener a su pequeña y apoyar a sus padres. Hoy, por primera vez, es ella quien necesita de nosotros. Y su hija de 5 años necesita a su madre de vuelta: sana, a salvo y llena de esperanza.
