Devin, just 23 years old, is facing an unimaginable battle. Recently, he was diagnosed with myeloid sarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of leukemia. The cancer has formed a tumour on his tailbone — one that doctors cannot operate on because of the location. They are very hopeful for a good prognosis but it will require aggressive treatment.

Devin has already spent over three weeks in the hospital and is expected to remain there for at least five more. He’s undergoing intense daily treatments, including three different types of chemotherapy and soon radiation. He may also need a stem cell transplant from his brother, Tyler.

Before his diagnosis, Devin was a hardworking framer — active, strong, and full of energy. He takes pride in supporting his family but now, he’s facing a long road to recovery and won’t be able to work for at least a year. Despite his own struggles, his biggest concern remains his 4-year-old daughter who means the world to him, and his girlfriend, Melissa, who is currently a university student doing her best to hold their little family together.

With no income and bills still coming in, this family is under tremendous financial strain. Rent, utilities, food, travel costs to the hospital, and caring for his daughter have become overwhelming.
