<div>A joyful little public school is changing the game in Detroit. And we’re fighting to make it permanent.

<div>Here’s the part nobody tells you when you start a public school in Detroit:

<li>Charter schools get zero dollars for buildings.
</li>
<li>No facility funding. No help with renovations. No safety net.
</li>
</ul>

<div>If you want a safe, stable school for kids, you build it yourself. Literally.

<div>So that’s what we did.
</div>

<div>We took a long-abandoned building in Pingree Park and rebuilt it into Detroit Prep, the top-performing elementary school in the city.
</div>

</div>
<div>And now we’re at the very last step. We have four months to finish our 10% down payment and we’re choosing to raise it hand-in-hand with our community.
</div>

</div>
<div>We are $250,000 away from fully owning this building forever.
</div>

<div>Owning our building flips the script for kids and neighbors in Detroit:

<li>More stability for families who’ve already fought for it.
