Help Denni raise $10K to replace broken bari sax

This past weekend, I got to experience the performance of my dreams with the amazing Skatune Network crew. It was all only made possible through the generosity of Carlos Eiene (@insaneintherainmusic) who loaned me his personal baritone saxophone to use at the show.

 

The reality I’ve returned home to is that my bari sax is now non-playable. Before boarding my flight to Seattle, Southwest Airlines told me I’d have to check my sax and that I could only pick it up through oversized baggage once I landed. I watched my case (that reads, “FRAGILE” in bold letters over hot pink duct tape) come tumbling down the conveyor belt multiple times before I could get to it. The result? The welding that holds my sax together broke and other keys were misaligned in the process.

 

Repairs like this aren’t cheap and Southwest isn’t confident they can support my claim. Re-welding is also only a temporary fix because it is only a matter of time before it cracks again. My Buescher “Big B” is an old saxophone that dates back to the 1950s. She is fierce, but she is also old and very delicate.

 

It’s hard for me to ask for this, but if you have the privilege to do so, I humbly invite you to help me reach my goal of $10k to replace my current saxophone. This will help me cover the cost of my saxophone, a custom case to keep it safe on the road and any additional fees that may arise. I promise to donate any remainder to Frontera Fund and West Fund, which provide much needed financial and practical support for abortion care on the Texas border.
