Help Dean Replace Stolen Camera and Tech
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
Many of you know me as the man behind the camera at SnapCo, where I've dedicated nearly eight years to the hard but necessary work of protecting Black trans lives.
Last Friday, SnapCo organized over 30 brave individuals to travel by bus to Washington, D.C., to participate in the first-ever Gender Liberation March. While there, I had the honor of capturing and documenting this monumental moment from behind the lens.
However, upon returning to Atlanta, I faced a devastating setback. While helping unload at the bus station, someone stole my tech equipment bag. Inside were my personal camera, lenses, and iPad—all essential tools for my work and livelihood.
The items I need to replace are:
Canon M50 EOS Camera with Kit Lens
Canon 50mm f/2.8 Lens
Canon 35mm f/2.8 Lens
iPad Pro
MacBook Air
The estimated cost to replace everything is $3,600.
Your support—whether through a donation or by sharing this campaign—would the world to me.
No amount is too small, and every bit brings me closer to getting back on my feet and behind the lens. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Dean Steed
PS: I managed to save a few photos from the march before the theft occurred, and you can view them here:
