<div>Op 11 augustus 2025 werd São Vicente verwoest door extreme regenval van tropische storm Erin. In één uur viel er 163 mm regen, wat leidde tot zware overstromingen en modderstromen. Huizen en wegen zijn weggevaagd en ook talloze honden en katten raakten gewond, verdwaald of raakten hun schuilplaats kwijt. Tussen het puin, in het water wachten zij nu angstig op hulp.

<div>Simabo beschermt, redt en verzorgt honden en katten die op straat leven of slachtoffer zijn van verwaarlozing op het eiland. In de afgelopen tijd is er hard gebouwd aan de opvang, maar die vooruitgang is nu in één klap weggevaagd. Jouw donatie geeft de dieren in nood voer, medicijnen en medische zorg. Het herstelt de opvang zodat gewonde honden en katten veilig kunnen aansterken en maakt veldacties mogelijk om hun lijden blijvend te stoppen.

<div>Zonder financiele steun kan Simabo de opvang en zorgprogramma’s niet voortzetten, honden en katten moeten leven op straat. Daar hebben ze minder toegang tot voedsel. Geen medisch zorg, waardoor de kans op ziekte, verwondingen, ongecontroleerde voortplanting toeneemt.
