On Thursday, February 20th, 2025, Dawn and her niece wandered into a pet store in Florida. There, she fell in love with a 3 lb. ball of fur she fondly named Roxy (the meaning of "Roxy" in Persian is Dawn).

Dawn, her sister, and 2 nieces drove little Roxy home to Dawn's house, and the next day, the puppy awoke struggling to breathe. Her little nose was congested and she couldn't even stand. At the vet, they learned that Roxy had pneumonia. Dawn has been giving Roxy nebulizers 4 times a day as well as many various antibiotics. Dawn had to return to the vet with Roxy 2 more times. By Monday, Feb 24th, it looked as though Roxy was turning a new leaf and she was going to make it.

On Friday, February 28th, little Roxy was once again gasping for air. She could no longer stand again. The local veterinarian could not provide the care that Roxy needed. She was taken to a ver reputable veterinarian center in Lakewood Ranch. Her oxygen level had suddenly dropped below 90. She was put under an oxygen tent, and after a day little Roxy perked up enough to go home.

At 2 am on Sunday, March 2nd, Roxy's oxygen level plummeted again. This time it was below 85. She is once again at the emergency vet's office. Dawn has been told it will cost $4600 today and an additional $2000 a day for this treatment alone. That is well over $6000.00 for her treatments that Dawn has already spent

Dawn is desperate to save this baby. She has shared that she brings so much joy to her life. As we all know Dawn's determination and tenacity, we want to help her as much as we can. Unfortunately, through some background checks, it seems that this health problem is very common with this particular store and breeder. The conditions this little baby has endured are horrendous.
