Everyone’s dear friend, Dawn, is facing the unimaginable challenge of becoming the primary caregiver of her father, who lives across the country and is suffering from dementia.

Devastatingly, his health has rapidly deteriorated in the past few months, and Dawn has repeatedly taken the 4,000-mile round-trip journey to care for and advocate for him, spending almost 3 out of the last 6 months there in Chicago.

The emotional toll on Dawn is compounded by the costs associated with expensive flights and transportation, meetings with lawyers, specialists, and medical teams.

The financial costs are becoming overwhelming, and we are trying to ease some of the things she is having to endure by raising $5,000 to offset some of these expenses.

Her father has no other family, so this responsibility falls solely on her. Dawn is doing everything in her power to ensure her father receives the care he deserves.

Dawn has spent the last 10 years of her life in the nonprofit sector, tirelessly working to improve the lives of disadvantaged children, youth, and their families.

We would love to show her some of the compassion and commitment she has always given to others as she navigates this traumatic situation.
