Help David Kick Cancer’s Ass

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for us around here, we found out that my little brother, David Foster has stage 4 esophageal cancer. He starts chemo on Tuesday and is going to need all the good energy and kindness and prayers he can get.
I’ll post his caringbridge website if you’re interested in checking in on his progress and a gofundme link if you can donate to help him a little bit through this coming fight. Send him a note, let him know you’re thinking of him.
From the first entry today on his caringbridge site: Here’s what we know so far:
Esophageal cancer
Main tumor + multiple nodules in his esophagus and down into his stomach
Lymph node involvement all along his esophagus, plus up under his right collar bone
2 lesions on his liver
He will have a port placed on Monday, 1/15 – this is to allow access to administer any medications (including chemo), and draw blood for testing without sticking him over and over “like a pincushion” (his words, not mine).
He will start chemo on 1/16 and will have it every 2 weeks. They will do tests all along the way to make sure things are going well, and will rescan in 2-3 months.
At this point, David is processing and asks for no phone calls. I’m sure he’d like to hear from you by text if you already have his contact info, or you’re welcome to leave notes here on CaringBridge – all the positivity and well wishes will be really helpful along the way.
