Hello! Our names are David and Sydney Kotter. We got married in 2020 and have always dreamed of having a big family. After years of trying, fertility tests confirmed what we feared: we would not be able to conceive naturally.

David had leukemia when he was 11 years old. He underwent chemotherapy, radiation, and more. Doctors hoped that they could reduce possible future side effects towards fertility, but unfortunately, that was not the case. After 3 unsuccessful rounds of IUI (artificial insemination), we began the process of IVF. We felt so blessed when we had 23 eggs retrieved. Unfortunately, due to sperm DNA fragmentation, only one egg fertilized and grew. The other 22 eggs were lost.

That one egg became our wonderful, beautiful baby boy, Elijah. He has been the light of our lives. He loves playing with other kids; his little cousin is his best friend. We would love to have another baby and give Elijah a sibling. After already paying for the first round of IVF, we cannot afford another on our own. We don’t have any frozen embryos, so we have to start from scratch again. New testing and fertilization methods give us hope that we could successfully have many viable embryos this time.
