Help David Lay & Dana Lay & family

David and Dana are two very good friends of mine. They've got 5 beautiful children. David is a HARD working man who owns his own tree and lawn maintenance service. He runs heavy machinery and has to climb trees all the time.

This is why I’m sharing to try and get them help!

David is a very giving man and wants to help everyone.  He joined up with the Cajun Navy in Texas during hurricane Harvey. Prior to going he developed a foot ulcer which became infected by bacteria-laden flood waters.  He’s had a hole in his foot that required him to wear a cast with a boot for a year or so now. He’s also had a picc line in his arm to receive antibiotics intravenously at home because the infection in his foot got so bad it was creeping into the bone. They were trying to keep that from happening. It didn’t work. The infection got in the bone.

The Cajun Navy called him to come help after hurricane Florence. He was determined to go, despite knowing he was scheduled for surgery shortly after. They needed his help. The day before leaving, a tree fell in his work truck and totaled it. He didn’t let that stop him. That’s who David is. He loaded up an older truck with supplies and headed out.

While there assisting, a levee broke flooding his truck and equipment (chainsaw, trailer, boats) making it all a total loss. So now TWO trucks gone as well as expensive equipment.  He only made it back to with mere hours to spare before his scheduled surgery.

Tuesday morning, David had his left leg, from below the knee down, removed and most of his big toe on his right foot as well. He has had a rough recovery but was able to go home today (Saturday). He and Dana have a long road ahead of them.

As you can imagine, this is a HUGE blow to both David and Dana. He’s the only source of income and with 5 small children at home, Dana is unable to work. He will be unable to work for at least 3 months. If not longer. Learning to use a prosthetic will be hard enough, let alone climbing trees with one.

AND now two truck replacements, equipment replacements and medical bills.

We need to rally together for this sweet family.

Please give what you can to help them! Please share this go fund me so we can bless them! They are very giving people and would do the same for you if you needed!

David and Dana, y’all are amazing. Praying for you and I hope that this proves to help you during this rough time! ❤️
