<div>It's Danica here! As many of you know and maybe perhaps many of you don't know, I have struggled with my back almost all my life (like since kindergarten lol) . When I was about 15 I had to wear a back brace, and was diagnosed with Spondylolysis (a fracture of the bone that connects two vertebrae). At that time I was young and surgery wasn't necessary, although the discussion of eventual surgery was talked about.

<div>In the last month it has become apparent that we are now approaching that time. My back randomly started hurting back in August and I thought it was just a flare up as it has always been, so I took it a little easy and rested. The pain persisted, so I went to the urgent care where they did an x-ray and compared it side by side with my x-ray from before showing that the disc has moved, and she suggested a specialist and the surgery. I scheduled my appointment with the specialist for September 22nd thinking it was only 3 weeks away and I could manage until then. Unfortunately that is not the way things have gone, and I can hardly get out of bed, off the toilet, or even wipe my own ass (TMI, sorry!) It is because of this that I have missed the last week of work, and am likely not to return to work until the surgery is done and I am healed.

<div>Eventually, I will hopefully be put on unemployment or disability, but in the meantime I am going to struggle. There are a plethora of things I have to get in the meantime for this surgery on top of medical expenses, my bills (car payment, insurance, rent, phone bill etc. etc.), everyday things to take care of myself and my cat, gas to get to and from appointments, and I am sure there will be more things along the way!

<div>I appreciate any and all help, I also linked an Amazon list for things that will be beneficial during my surgery that I don't have but will need (I just started this, so I will add more things throughout the learning process of what I will need going forward)!
