As most of you may know I have been having GI issues for about 3 years. They removed my gallbladder 2 1/2 years ago thinking that would fix everything. Well, it didn't. We found out back in July that my Celiac Artery was completely compressed by the Median Arcuate Ligament. The Celiac Artery is the main artery that feeds blood to your GI system. So I had surgery to correct that in October 2017. Well, it fixed the artery but made everything else worse!! I now have trouble eating. If I take to big of a bite, eat to fast or don't chew enough the food gets suck in my esophagus. I had an EGD with Esophageal Dilation in December 2017. Guess what, food still gets stuck. My only relief is to throw it up. Also, after the surgery, for the artery, my Pancrease stopped working. I won't go into detail about what problems that causes!! Between my Pancrease not working and not being able to eat or keep food down. I have lost over 20 lbs since October. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the weight loss. But along with the weight loss, I suffer from malnutrition and dehydration. My current GI thinks they may have damaged my Vagus Nerve during the surgery in October. He also suspects that I suffer from Gastroparesis because of the nerve damage. There is no cure for Gastroparesis. They just treat the symptoms and hope for the best. My primary care physician and my GI doctor have discussed my issue and decided to refer me to the Mayo Clinic. They think I can get the best and up to date medical care there. I have an appointment Tuesday, January 30, 2018. They have told me that I will need to plan on staying in Jacksonville, FL for at least a week. I have medical insurance to cover most of the medical expenses. I am currently unemployed because of my health issues. I have started this GoFundMe to help pay for a room to stay in and food to eat while we (George & I) are there. I have set my goal at $1500 but I'm not sure how much I really need. I hate to ask for help because that's just not me but all this is just too much to put on George's shoulders. He has stood by me through all of this. He has been my ROCK. He's gone to most of the appointments with me.  If you can not donate, I'll take prayers.
Thanks,
Dana LeBlanc
