Help Dan on the Road to Recovery

Donation protected
How many people would you not have met if it weren’t for Dan Petermann? Dan is a nexus for many new friendships and lasting relationships. He is the type of person who makes you feel at home, even if you have only known him for minutes. Dan’s insatiable love for life and the people in it have touched lives all over the world. From these profound connections, Dan has created innumerable cherished friendships among former strangers.

Dan embodies adventure. He lives each day fully and immersively. His adventurous spirit has filled his life, and everyone’s around him, with joy, love, and an appreciation for culture and the great outdoors. From hiking trails to concert venues to dusty streets in foreign countries, I’m sure you can think of an incredible amount of experiences you’ve shared with Dan that are among your most treasured memories.

On March 7, 2019, Dan was in a severe snowboarding accident at Vail. After emergency transport to Grand Junction, he underwent surgery for a spinal cord injury. Due to complications with the initial surgery, he required a second procedure. While the outlook is positive, Dan has a long road to recovery ahead of him. He has been accepted to Craig Hospital in Denver where he will participate in intensive rehabilitative therapy. At this point, it is unclear how long Dan will be at Craig, but the hospital is a world-renowned institution that specializes in spinal cord rehabilitation. We have no doubt that Dan’s optimism, strength, and dedication will guide him on his road to recovery.

Just as he has been there for so many of us over the years, Dan needs our help now. The recovery period promises to be a stressful, demanding, and financially burdensome process . Over the next few months Dan and his family will need help with:

Medical bills
His inability to work
Rent/bills
Quality of life during rehab
Family travel and lodging expenses
Future medical bills for check ups and long-term physical therapy

Dan wants to express his profound gratitude to everyone for their kind words, thoughts, and donations. Your continued love and support is greatly appreciated.
