Help Dalton build a Skate Park

Dalton is a drought-affected farming community in southern New South Wales. Our kids have almost no play equipment and no place to come together to socially connect and get exercise after school and on weekends. The current park has just three swings to play on, and an old tennis court.
A skatepark will provide our kids with a free, safe place to scoot, skate and ride in safety. Currently, the deteriorating tennis court is the only flat, smooth area to ride on, and there is nowhere else for children to skate other than the road.
The skate park will provide them with hours of exercise and relaxation, as well as a place to just ‘hang out' and connect socially.
Our project has support from the community, Upper Lachlan Shire Council, Wendy Tuckermann (the local Member for Goulburn) and Angus Taylor, Member for Hume.
Here's what some of the local kids say:
Hunter, 12: “ I have just started high school this year and the bus does not get home until 4.45 pm. It is too late for mum and dad to take me to the Gunning skate park and I would love to have a local skate park that I could just go to after my long bus trip from Yass. I would like to go down there and meet my friends for an hour or two before it got dark.”
Kai, 11: “It will be fun and after school all of my friends could come down and ride together. All the play equipment at the other park is closed off and the only thing is at the basketball courts. There isn’t much to use and the outdoor gym is for the adults.”
Albert, 10: “Because it’s fun to go on and you can jump and have fun with your friends. At the moment Dalton is boring because there’s almost nothing to do.”
