My name is Dakota, and for as long as I can remember, I’ve been by my mum’s side—her shadow, her protector, her best friend. No matter what, I’ve always stayed close, making sure she’s never alone.

But now, I need help—because I can barely walk anymore. I used to love my daily walks, running through the grass, feeling the world beneath my paws.

But that world has gotten smaller. My paws are swollen and raw, my legs hurt too much to carry me far, and some days, I can’t even make it to the toilet in time. My mum does everything she can, but my medical bills are overwhelming.

What’s Happening to Me?

Chronic Paw Infections & Skin Issues – I have a yeast infection (Malassezia) that never really goes away. My paws get swollen, cracked, and painful, making it almost impossible to walk.

Serious Joint & Mobility Problems – I’ve already had two major leg surgeries just to be able to walk, but my joints are giving up on me again. I struggle with every step.

Bladder Issues & Incontinence – I need daily medication to help control my bladder, which is another cost my mum has to cover every month.

Constant Pain & Vet Treatments – I take medication every day, need special food, and have to visit the vet regularly.

My mum has been doing this for years, but now, she needs help to keep me comfortable.

Why This Matters:

I still wag my tail. I still try. I still want to be part of my mum’s life—go on walks, enjoy the fresh air, and feel good again. I’m not ready to stop fighting, but without help, my mum won’t be able to afford the care I need. Some months are worse than others, and vet visits or new medications can make expenses much higher. She’s done everything she can for me, but now, I need a little help from others.
