Help Keep My Dad Warm This Winter ❤️

As many people reach retirement age, some keep working well beyond it — whether out of routine, financial need, or the love of staying active. My dad is one of those people. At 74, he’s still out on job sites doing concrete work, side by side with his lifelong friend and boss.

This past Friday, just before wrapping up another long, hot week, he took a serious fall on the job. He fractured his hip and will need surgery to repair it, which is scheduled for Sunday, July 20th. He was transported by ambulance from the worksite and is now at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he’s in the care of an incredible orthopedic team.

While we are beyond thankful that he’s alive and receiving excellent care, there’s one major concern on his mind: how he will afford heat this winter.

Each summer, my dad works tirelessly not only to cover his regular expenses, but to chip away at his heating oil costs — putting money aside week by week to ensure he can stay warm through Maine’s brutal winters. That effort came to an abrupt stop with his fall, and now he faces months of recovery.

If you know my dad, you know he’s not one to ask for help. In fact, he’s the guy always lending a hand to others. But this is one of those moments when life throws a curveball, and help is simply needed.

So I’m asking — on his behalf — for support to help him stay warm through the coming colder months. Any donation, no matter the size, makes a difference.
