Help Cure Tishie

Hello Everyone. We're starting a Go Fund me to help fund the medical operation to help diagnose Tishie. Tishie is a 2 year old Long haired Miniature Dachshund. At 6 months old Tishie developed a violent cough, which would result in her making a honking sound and coughing up fluids and phlegm. Tishie’s cough is persistent every evening and through the night, it keeps her up through the night and wakes up the whole family, it makes Tishie tired and she has to sleep most of the day to make up for her lost sleep

We took her to a local vet and were prescribed pills to help fight the cough. The pills never work, her cough got better but once the course of antibiotics was done she got worse again. Over the course of 18 Months we have taken her to 3 different vets none of which have been able to diagnose her or treat her cough.

This has resulted in Thousands of dollars spent on Vet appointments, X-rays, Tests, Medication, Cough suppressants, Day treatments and much more. We have recently teamed up with a vet who is an hour away but has more experience and equipment on hand.

Our last vet bill for Medication, Treatment, and the consult came to over $500 With use being told we would need an additional $2000 for an endoscopic operation to take samples from the throat for testing to get a diagnosis. While $2000 doesn’t feel like much, it’s a battle being a single income family with a 5 month of baby boy and the raising cost of Tishies treatment.

Every time we just get ahead we need more medication just to keep the cough at a comfortable level for Tishie to function. Our Vet at Brookfield Vet Surgery (Queensland) has been great over the past 6 months checking in and seeing tishie regularly.

However, with the existing costs of vet visits and medication we are struggling to gather the funds for the operation needed to diagnose her. Our savings keep getting eaten to pay for her medication and cough suppressant and vet consults. We have been told by the vet that we need to get this done sooner rather than later as whatever could be causing it is slowly getting worse with medication / treatment being less and less effective.

We would love to have our energetic and cheeky girl back without her having to stop every 10 minutes to catch her breath as she is struggling to breath while coughing. We love our dog more than anything else she’s been a protector of our house and family since a pup. She even checks the baby crib after we come home from work to see how her 5 month old baby brother is doing. (Despite the kid being in our arms at the time)

Please Help Tishie get the treatment she deserves and needs.  Our Family would be lost without her.
