Crystal of Pine Ridge

Some of you will remember Crystal, my dog family member. We rescued her from Pine Ridge during a Sundance. Actually, she rescued us. She was a mess. A small little bundle of flesh with no hair and bruises and cuts everywhere… coupled with a bad limp in and dragging her rear end. She stared at us in fear, but with a strong pleading in her eyes. We felt her spirit. So we went the Sundance and drove to the nearest vet in Rapid City, SD. The vet washed her and gave her a quick exam - and said she would probably not live thru the night. We took her back to the Sundance with her dressings on and made her comfortable. She made it thru the night and the next two days before we left. We drove to Santé Fe and brought her to our vet. He did not think she would survive and knew all the procedures would cost a great deal. I had about $2500 I could use. My good friend said he would put up $4000 - he had immediately fallen in love with her spirit and loving nature. With the hip replacements she also needed we needed another $4000 - even with the vet helping out. I thought we must be insane, but an elder told me she was a model for healing, survival and love - so we needed to find a way. I talked with online friends and several said we needed to ask thru a Gofundme - saying the least were as important as the most then. We raised the other $4000 and the vet went to work. She stayed there for 8 weeks as they worked over her wounds, mange and other issues. Picture at eight weeks is shown here.

Crystal began working with us at healing circles, drum circles and lodges - and has never stopped. Her story gives hope to those in fear or doubt and her love makes everyone feel empowered to heal. She became a Standing Rock dog and helped us spread the word. She stood with us and graced many of my posts. The last few years she has visited the elderly with me and worked on clients with me also.

Now she is 16 and some of the work they did on her joints are surfacing in her again and causing pain and infection. I have brought her thru two years of healing and doctoring and it has depleted my resources. She needs a surgery to remove some of the old metal in one leg so she can heal again. When I did ceremony around this and her health, Creator showed me she is still needed in this shift time. Like me, she will go until we weave a new Earth. She represents the 4-leggeds in my work around that. As I will myself. Once again, several friends said - do another Gofundme. She is a healing dog, a bright light and an example for all beings. That is what the Mother spoke to me.

So, we ask your help. Who asks? Crystal, me, Shiloh - my other dog relative - and all people she has helped. I will need about $3,000 beyond my means. Please, pitch in whatever you can. Together we can do this…circle. I will do a big gratitude ceremony here in Arizona and virtually to thank you all when this is complete.

If any funds are not used I will give them to a rescue organization, so other dogs can step up like Crystal and help our circles.
