Cristobal is a young man I met in the Peruvian Rain Forest. He is a motivated person who has dedicated his life to the people of his neighbourhood in the town of Iquitos, in Peru.

When I met him, he was making the best out of nothing to improve the quality of life of the people around him. With nearly no funds, he was finding people to clean the city, he was helping the poorest families around him, and was making his best to share what he received with the community.

He is a really humane person who has his heart on his hand.

Today the conditions linked to the current sanitary crisis and the lack of incentives from the Peruvian government make it impossible for the most disadvantaged people of Iquitos to survive. They need our help!

The Peruvian government doing nothing to help the poorest of its people, Cristobal came to me to see if I could help him in any ways.

Here are his words:

"
Since the pandemic began the Peruvian airport closed the borders, my village from March 15 began a fight for survival, without help from our authorities, without medicine, without attention from a doctor, the children and elders of my village died at that time for lack of medicine.

My name is Cristobal Rengifo, I am one of the members of my village, I knock on many doors in Iquitos to ask for help. Some people donate rice, vegetables and other food for more than 25 children and elders in my village.

I ask for voluntary support from people, in these difficult moments a coin can help a lot.

Right now my village needs food and medicine. We really hope that the pandemic will end very very soon.
"

Please, any help could change their lives. They need us today. The smallest gesture would make a great difference!
