Help Cover Rita's Overdue Rent

As-Salamu Alaykum, 

Rita, a native of Morocco and a resident of Astoria, New York for the past 23 years, is one of the most hardworking and perserving people one could ever meet. As a single mother, she dedicated her whole life to not only giving her daughter the best life possible but also to serving all those around her.  She worked tirelessly as a dishwasher at Balthazar for more than 10 years, and now, she single-handedly runs a restaurant, S&J, where she cooks, cleans, and serves as host and waitress. Her loyal customers come not only for her delicious (and very cheap!) food but also for her bright, generous, and welcoming personality.

Unfortunately, Rita has fallen on some hard times recently and has not been able to pay the rent for her apartment for almost 5 months now. Her situation is dire and she is at a risk of eviction. Rita does not have any family in the US but she's part of a community that she served so devotedly for more than 20 years. When anyone in the community was in need, Rita was there to help in any way she can. Even in difficult times, her kindness and generosity never wavered. 

Now, Rita needs us to support her. Every night, she goes home terrified that she would be locked-out of her apartment. She has not been able to sleep or rest in months despite her grueling work at the restaurant. If you could help in any way you can, no matter how small of an amount, it would greatly alleviate the pressure Rita is facing and would, by the grace of God, allow her to keep a roof over her head.
