Help Cover Ollie's Final Vet Costs
Donation protected
At 5am on Tuesday, October 8th I had to make the horrible decision to put my sweet boy Ollie down. He was only 3 years old.
When I came home Monday night, he was yowling in pain. I rushed him to the emergency vet and they determined he had a blocked urinary system and he was very sick. They said he’d need surgery and hospitalization and it would cost $5,454. I was approved for the credit, but the monthly payments were going to be over $400, maybe closer to $500.
The vet told me that if I were to go through with the surgery, he would have the high risk of getting blocked again. He had feline idiopathic cystitis. He would’ve needed special prescription food that would start at $100 a month and would have to go to the vet often to get checked. And even then, he could get blocked again at any moment, and that would be another emergency situation.
So I was faced with the horrible decision that every pet owner fears. I cried for hours. I petted him and kissed him and talked to him and prayed. I’ll be receiving him in a little urn. They gave me some of his fur, two whiskers, and ink prints of his paws.
He was just the best boy. Super chill cat. He was super affectionate and would always cheer me up. It was the best coming home to him. I had him since he was just a few weeks old. Losing him has been very painful.
What I’m asking for help for is the final costs. The pain meds, the visit itself, the euthanasia, and the cremation worked out to be $1,062. If I can get help for that, I’d appreciate it a lot. Every little dollar helps. Thank you so much for reading. If you can’t donate, please share. Thank you. ❤️
