 We are the children of Johan and Susana Giesbrecht, and we are starting this GoFundMe to help cover the medical expenses they are facing.

 Last year 2025, Johan began experiencing severe nerve pain in his head. He saw three different doctors in hopes of finding relief. While medication helped for a time, the pain returned and became so severe that it made it difficult for him to eat, drink, and carry on with everyday life. As the pain worsened, he was no longer able to work, placing an additional financial strain on them.

 On July 27, he underwent open brain surgery for trigeminal neuralgia to repair the damaged nerve. The first surgery alone cost approximately 400,000 pesos. Following the surgery, a scan showed bleeding on the left side of his brain, requiring him to undergo a second emergency surgery. In addition to the cost of both surgeries, his stay in the ICU continues to add to the growing medical expenses.

 He is currently in the ICU in a medically induced coma, and our family is taking things one day at a time.

 Im vergangenen Jahr (2025) begann Johan unter starken Nervenschmerzen im Kopf zu leiden. Er suchte drei verschiedene Ärzte auf, in der Hoffnung, Linderung zu finden. Die Medikamente halfen zwar eine Zeit lang, doch die Schmerzen kehrten zurück und wurden so stark, dass es ihm schwerfiel zu essen, zu trinken und seinen Alltag zu bewältigen. Als sich die Schmerzen verschlimmerten, war es ihm schließlich nicht mehr möglich zu arbeiten, was unsere Familie zusätzlich finanziell belastete.

 Am 27. Juli unterzog er sich einer offenen Gehirnoperation aufgrund einer Trigeminusneuralgie, um den geschädigten Nerv zu behandeln. Allein die erste Operation kostete etwa 400.000 Pesos. Nach der Operation zeigte eine Untersuchung eine Blutung auf der linken Seite seines Gehirns, weshalb er sich einer zweiten Notoperation unterziehen musste. Zusätzlich zu den Kosten beider Operationen steigen die medizinischen Ausgaben durch seinen Aufenthalt auf der Intensivstation weiterhin an.

 Zurzeit befindet er sich auf der Intensivstation und liegt in einem künstlichen Koma. Unsere Familie nimmt im Moment jeden Tag so, wie er kommt.
