Funeral costs for Vietnam Veteran Michael Boggs

Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Fellow Veterans,

I am reaching out to you today on behalf of my father, Mike Boggs. For those of you that know my father, you know that he is one of the most caring and generous people that you will ever meet. He loves making people laugh, and he is the guy that would give the shirt off of his back if he thought that you needed it more than he did.
Being 1 of 9 children, my dad's family did not grow up with a lot of money. He lost his parents at the young age of 17, and when his parents died, he enlisted in the United States Army. He served in the Vietnam War, and is very proud of the time he fought for his country! After the Army, he worked hard all of his life to support his family and has been willing to help others anytime he could.
Unfortunately, in 2016, he developed a deblitating leg condition called lyphedema that causes him to get chronic swelling and recurrent infections in his legs. He has spent the last 4 years battling this painful condition by going to wound care 1-2 times per week to get wraps on his legs. He has had several hospitalizations due to this condition, and that caused him to have to quit his job at FedEx. When he was forced to quit his job, he lost his life insurance and due to his chronic health conditions, he was unable to get another policy. He was recently hosptitalized in July due to pain in his right side and lung. After 3 weeks in the hospital, visits to 2 oncologists, and multiple paineful procedures, he was diagnosed with stage 4 adenocarcinoma of the lung. In other words, he has terminal lung cancer. He was not given any options for treatment due to the stage of the cancer and his other health conditions. He was only given 6 months to live and placed on hospice.
Since the time of his diagnosis, he is trying to make good memories with his friends and his family. He is continuing to stay strong despite his daily pain and trouble breathing. He is relying on his faith and working on growing closer to God. However, since he no longer has a life insurance policy and is not married, his biggest concern at this time is that he will leave me with the cost of his funeral. He is constantly worrying and trying to figure out ways to get money to pay the funeral bill, as he does not want me to have to finance the cost of this.
If you are able, I ask you today to consider showing your support and making a donation. Every little bit helps, and in a small way will help decrease his worrying in his final months. Thank you for even considering a donation and taking the time to read about my sweet father. I understand that financially you may not be able to donate, but please share this story and keep him in your prayers!
      May God Bless You!!
