<div>On Friday, June 6, 2025, our brother Emmanuel, lovingly known to everyone as “Mito” was rushed to the hospital after experiencing shortness of breath and unbearable chest pain. Doctors quickly discovered he had suffered a massive heart attack, along with extensive heart disease and severe arterial blockages.

<div>The initial plan was to perform a minimally invasive heart catheterization to place stents. However, further testing revealed a 100% blockage in the “widow maker” artery and 80% blockage in a second artery. Due to the severity of the damage and location of the blockages, doctors determined that open-heart surgery was necessary to save his life.

<div>A few days later, Emmanuel underwent what ended up being a triple bypass surgery. His cardiothoracic surgeon and team spent nearly six hours in the operating room. When it came time to take him off the machines supporting his heart, it became clear that the damage was too extensive for his heart to beat on its own. What was already a major procedure became far more complex and life-threatening.

<div>He spent the following days in intensive care, supported by a balloon pump and breathing machines while his medical team worked tirelessly to stabilize him. Through expert care, unwavering faith, and many prayers, he slowly began to recover. He has since graduated into the intermediate care unit (IMU), and each day his heart and spirit grow stronger.

<div>But the road to recovery is still long.
</div>
<div>This event has changed Emmanuel’s life in every way (physically, emotionally, and financially.) He will be out of work for the foreseeable future and is now facing significant medical expenses, including:

</div>
<div>•	CABG (Triple Bypass Surgery)
</div>
<div>•	ICU and IMU care
</div>
<div>•	Ongoing cardiac rehabilitation
</div>
<div>•	Follow-up testing and treatment

<div>Our family is doing all we can to support him, but we can’t do it alone.
