Help Courtney Get Essential Housing Transportation

Hi my name is Courtney Lynn. I am a 34 year old nurse that has been unable to work the past nine years due to chronic illness. This began when I was just 23 years old I had just moved into a 200 year old building that they had renovated into "luxury" apartment lofts. I had no idea there was hidden mold there and that the next four years of my life living there would be some of the worst. By the time I realized what was going on, years had passed and I was unable to work and basically completely incapacitated. I was almost completely bedbound and experienced extremely debilitating fatigue and weakness on a daily basis along with a laundry list of about 20 other symptoms including shortness of breath, muscle soreness, brain fog and memory loss, etc.

During this time I was also diagnosed with Lyme disease and put on very aggressive treatments for over a year which greatly worsened my overall condition. Once I moved out I developed a condition known as CIRS/Biotoxin illness that made me so extremely sensitive to mold toxins that I could no longer find a place to live indoors that my body could tolerate. That was in 2012. Since then I have moved hundreds of times and spent the majority of those years homeless. It is difficult to even put into words what I have experienced. For a long time, when I was able to afford it, I was so sensitive that I would just rent rental vehicles and switch them out each month once they got too "cross contaminated" from mold toxins (from going in and out of buildings etc), while sleeping in Walmart parking lots. This illness changed my life in ways I would have never imagined in a million years. Ive had to live an extremely isolated life and have little to no social contact due to my sensitivities. I have not even seen my family on the east coast in over four years. Unfortunately this is the case for many going through this as it's becoming a silent epidemic that is effecting hundreds of thousands of people every year. I know entire families that have been forced to live at camp grounds because of this condition and it's heart breaking more isn't being done to help people going through this and to bring awareness so people can get the help they need.

However there is hope for recovery as others who have developed these conditions and extreme sensitivities have found that extreme avoidance of mold toxins and spending the majority of time outdoors in pristine air while incorporating naturopathic and detox treatments can over time diminish their sensitivities to where it is possible to live an at least semi normal life again and even  fully normal life. So far, avoidance has been one of the only things to make a significant positive difference in my symptoms. I am in great need of a utility cargo van (which would be the best option) or a work truck and camper(second option) in order to do this. These vehicles are ideal for people with these conditions due to the lack of carpet and chemical as well as EMF issues that most other vehicles have.

Also because utility cargo vans are mostly metal and work trucks have very minimal fabric it reduces the amount of cross contaminants that get tracked in and they are much easier to clean which can make a huge difference for someone living with this condition. If I were to have a vehicle of my own it would make a huge difference overall in my quality of life and health.

I also want to add that newer rental vehicles now have so many EMF (electro magnetic frequencies) producing technologies such as Wi-Fi, OnStar, Bluetooth etc that I am no longer able to tolerate them. Yes I'm even sensitive to EMF which I know sounds crazy but it's unfortunately very common for those living with these conditions. It's essential I get a vehicle immediately for my health. A used vehicle could possibly be an option however the seller would have to be okay with my "trying it out" for a time period so I can be sure it's something that is tolerable for me as it can be difficult to find tolerable used vehicles for people with these conditions.

Not only that but I am trying to raise finances just for rent also to have a place for basic necessities but then spend majority of time in Van/camper. This costs on average in this area $700-$900/month. So for someone on disability you can see why it's easy to end up staying in shelters instead which are not viable options even for people not experiencing these issues.

Please join me in spreading the word and raising the funds necessary so that I can do this. To those that care enough to read this and genuinely want to help and learn more I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Ever since I was a little girl, all I've ever wanted to do was help people. I still believe I can recover and do that.

I have spoken with multiple physicians specializing in these conditions that told me this is the necessary route for healing. I don't care about "things". The only thing I care about is feeling better. Literally the only belongings I have due to these sensitivities is the essentials like my one outfit I'm wearing, my bath and body care, supplements and that's pretty much it. Not even any furniture. And I'm fine with that. Going through this has taught me that your health is one of the most valuable possessions you can ever have.
