<div>Hi, my name is Wendy, I'm Corinne's mammy and love her to bits. Corinne is 19 years old and a few months ago the pesky bone cancer in her pelvis returned. Corinne was told she had less than a year to live.

<div>In 2024 aged 17 Corinne was diagnosed with Ewings sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer. She faced this with an inspirational level of positivity. Corinne endured 10 months of gruelling treatment at hospitals in Newcastle and Manchester. She never complained and always had a smile for her nurses. Corinne sang on the ward, made friends and had smiles and 'how are you' ready for everyone. In December 2024 Corinne had beaten cancer. It had cost her a great deal, but she had made it.

<div>In January 2025, despite expectations that she would be frail and exhausted, Corinne returned to her sixth form determined to complete her A-levels and achieve her dream of studying sociology at Durham University. Corinne was bald and thin, all her friends had left school and she joined a new year group knowing noone. Her younger sister Halle was in year 9. Halle and her friends checked on her, which Corinne thought was super sweet. Corinne pressed on, ever resilient, making lovely new friends. In the summer of 2025, despite struggling with brain fog, Corinne sat her exams and got an A* in Sociology A-level. Amazing.

<div>Corinne was enjoying doing other things too. She was singing at local open mic nights which led to some paid gigs. Corinne was playing in a steelband with her sister and she was going out and having lots of fun. And in September 2025 she achieved her dream of enrolling in Durham Uni on the sociology degree.

<div>Then in November our world collapsed. The symptoms were back. She was certain. Pain and debilitating fatigue. We were in limbo for a few months as scans kept showing nothing. Then in March the terrible news that in the space of a few weeks the tumour had gone from being a possible something to a huge growth. Corinne was told she had less than 12 months to live. Hearing her say, 'I don't want to die", and having to tell Halle and seeing her struggle but immediately ask "how is Corinne", I'm so proud of them... for each of us, there's simply no pain like this.

<div>Corinne has again endured some gruelling rounds of chemo which has driven back the tumour. We're thankful for this chemo, but that is all she can have. She's also going to have some radiotherapy to blast it. Then nothing for a time. She is free to make the most of the summer. To do everything and anything with the weeks there are until the cancer returns for the final time.

<div>The money raised will go to pay for anything and everything.  A holiday.  A day out.  A meal.  Spontaneity and magic.  A lifetime of joys in a small number of weeks.  We're not going to wait around.  Let's help make this time amazing.  And then, later, it will help keep the lights on so I can be by their side.
