Help Corey Zielinski Walk Again

On October 4th of 2009, my father, Corey Zielinski was in a hunting accident because of hypoglycemia. From his tree stand, he fell 25 feet which left him with 3 broken ribs, a punctured lung and broken back. Though his ribs and lung healed, he now is complete paraplegic. Doctors have told him for years that he would never be able to walk again, which so far for him physically, has been the case until 2014.  In 2014, my father was introduced to a device that would give him the ability to be independent again. The device known as the exoskeleton bionic leg brace by ReWalk. This device gives him the ability to walk again. In 2014, when he was introduced to the device, he was given the opportunity to try this new FDA approved technology. For the first time in 4 years, my father took his first steps independently. Of course, after this life changing technology was introduced to him, he wanted the freedom and independence permanently. After applying to a major insurer, they denied the cost of the device, as well as my fathers ability to walk again. The major insurer explained that the denial was due to "investigational" purposes. After he suffered the loss of his job, because of his inability to walk again, he also suffered in having to change his career. During the battle of fighting for my father’s ability to walk again, he achieved his second master’s degree in health informatics. Though he is qualified in many fields, his wheelchair is pictured as a disability; in which many employers view as "unqualified". With the assistance of the bionic leg braces, he will have the opportunity to gain the independence he strives for every day. He will be viewed as Corey Zielinski - NOT the guy in the wheelchair. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my story about the dad who truly deserves it.
