Coral and her husband Trevor have one heartfelt dream — to start a big, healthy family together. But for Coral, that dream has come with overwhelming challenges.
Coral has lived with Type 1 diabetes since she was just 8 years old. She's what doctors call a "brittle diabetic," meaning her blood sugar levels are extremely difficult to manage and can swing dangerously high or low, even with constant monitoring. Over the years, she’s faced serious complications — from life-threatening diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) to near-sepsis — but she has never stopped fighting for her health or her dream of becoming a mom.
Recently, Coral’s endocrinologist shared a ray of hope: if she can maintain her blood sugar within a tighter, more stable range, she would be healthy enough to carry a child. The best way for her to achieve this is with the help of an insulin pump — a device that once helped her stabilize her A1C when she was younger. Unfortunately, she had to give it up after losing her health insurance at the end of 2023.
For all of 2024, Coral struggled without insurance, shouldering the crushing costs of insulin and diabetic supplies on her own. Independent insurance plans have either denied coverage or quoted unaffordable rates — over $500 a month with deductibles exceeding $5,000 just to access insulin, not even including her continuous glucose monitor (CGM). Due to her income, she doesn’t qualify for state assistance either.
Now, Coral has insurance through her job — but there’s still one huge hurdle. Before her insurance will cover the cost of $4600 for the insulin pump and $350 a month afterward for supplies, she must meet a $4,000 deductible — an amount she simply cannot afford on her own.
This is where you can help.
We are raising funds to cover the cost of Coral’s insulin pump so she can safely manage her diabetes and finally start the family she and Trevor have long dreamed of. Every dollar brings them closer to that goal — and to a future filled with hope, health, and the joy of children.
If you can contribute, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to Coral and Trevor. Your support is more than financial — it's a vote of belief in their dream.
Thank you for helping them take this life-changing step.
