<div>Our loyal dog, Cooper, didn’t hesitate for a second. He threw himself between us and the bears, protecting our family. In doing so, he suffered painful injuries—needing stitches inside his mouth and a staple on his nose. We had to rush him to an after-hours emergency vet, borrowing money we didn’t have just to make sure our hero got the care he deserved.

<div>Unfortunately, this came at a time when we were already struggling. Hurricane Helene had recently set us back financially, leaving us behind on bills and maxing out our credit cards. Now, with Cooper’s medical expenses added on top, we simply don’t know how we’re going to make it.
