Cooper Burnet was born in 2016 with server brain damage due to a virus I caught when I was pregnant.
He is now almost 3 and has dystonic quad cerebral palsy and epilepsy and is peg fed. Dystonic cerebral
palsy is a movement disorder caused by brain damage, where your effected in both legs or one arm. In
our case both his legs and both arms and trunk and neck. My son can not sit, walk or speak he has just
learned to roll over from his back to his belly but that comes and goes as it depends if he is sick.
He is over 100cm tall and is a big lean boy with a big smile and a big heart!. He is slowly starting communicate with us through his eyes and trying let us know what he needs but it is still a working progress. My son is a very irritable child due to not being able communicate, before all his medication started he was in alot of pain.
Cooper loves to watch
rhymes on you tube kids. He will watch it all day, it is the only way to calm him most times.
We can't do normal things like go to the beach or go to the movies or restaurant as a family, but my son loves walks in the park he loves the fresh air and trees but it's hard to get out of the house everyday with 3 kids under aged of 5.
I am cooper burnets mum i am his full time carer as well as my husband. We have 3 kids, I am 25 years old and my husband is 28. Growing up I always new all I wanted to do in life was be a mother but as a mother to a special needs child I feel hopeless at times that I can not give my son what he deserves, I want be able give him the world.
We are people who don't ask for help but even people with good jobs struggle. We are also the kind of people who are just strong and keep going but
sometimes even the strongest people need help. So please help us raise enough money to purchase a big family friendly vehicle that can be modify into a wheel chair accessible car.
