At the age of eight, she arrived in the United States as a refugee from Cambodia. <strong>Connie has now lived in the United States for nearly 40 years</strong> with her family and, more recently, with her beloved husband, Jerry.

In September 2024, ICE detained Connie at a routine check-in. </strong>Since then, she has courageously fought her immigration case while remaining detained, a battle which has now lasted nearly two years. Connie's case is before the <strong>Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals</strong>, where she awaits a decision that will determine her future.
