Help Connie Molina Kick Cancer

Donation protected
In May of 2018, our family took a vacation to attend Connie Molina's sister's wedding and to visit the Carolina’s. We had the time of our lives. However, within two week of coming back to Ohio, we were informed that Connie was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. It was a complete shock and hard to believe that this could happen to someone we love so much. It seemed so unfair. All we could think was, how can this happen to such a young, beautiful, and loving person who is constantly bending over backwards to help others?

Needless to say, our family was full of questions. Although in shock herself, Connie was able to educate us on the fact that this particular type of cancer has a higher treatable rate than others. Despite the tough reality we were all presented with, it was admirable to see Connie keep such a positive and optimistic attitude.

About a month ago, Connie started chemotherapy treatments and continued working full-time as a nurse like the warrior that she is. On August 9th, Tj (Connie’s husband), took her for her second chemo appointment and discovered that her ANC (absolute neutrophil count) levels were much lower than they were supposed to be. This meant that her white blood cell count was at 200 when it should have been closer to 1000 thus causing her to be more susceptible to infection. On top of all of this, she was told that she couldn’t receive her chemo treatment until this level was higher to reduce the probability of infection. She was also informed that she can’t return to work until the treatment is completely over. This means that Connie, who LOVES her job as a nurse, can’t return to work for a few months.

This news was devastating for Connie. Her co-workers are like a second family to her and not only is Connie passionate about nursing, but being at work acted as a distraction to all of the harsh realities being thrown at her.

Despite all of this, Connie continues to stay strong and persevere with determination. But the fact of the matter is, medical issues equate to medical bills. This leaves Connie and her husband, Tj, with worries of their financial future while raising a two year old daughter. Connie married into our family some years ago. Over the years, Connie and Tj have been key players in bringing the family together. They constantly give without asking for anything in return.

With all of that said, we want to give back during this difficult time. We would like to ask family, friends, and whoever else who would like to help in any way. Even if not donating money, you could donate your time by sending kind words of encouragement Connie’s way. The fact that Connie knows she has support from people who love her goes a long way in helping Connie and her family through this tough time.

Thank you all so much. Please share. Any help is appreciated.
