Help Connie and David Davies

April 21, 2020 UPDATE:   

David started dialysis three times a week at  
the beginning of February in addition to his
regular appointments and thoracentisis
about 3 times a month. He is doing
everything that has been asked of him by his care team so we are hoping that he will be
listed for transplant very soon!

One of his requirements is a fundraiser!  The Georgia Transplant Foundation (GTF) will
match dollar for dollar up to $10,000. They
will not even list him until he raises at least
part of this money. The reason they ask this
of us is because right now he is on Medicaid
and that pays for his medical bills as well as
all prescription medications. If for any reason he loses his Medicaid his regular medication plus antirejection medications total up to
$5800 each month.

This money will help him with unexpected
medical expenses after surgery and up to
$1000 can be used for travel expenses and
hotel stays around time of transplant. All of
these things have to be approved by GTF.

So many of our friends and family have
already donated so please don't feel like you have to help again. Instead get this out to as many people as you can. ALL of your friends
on Facebook.   Never underestimate the kindness of strangers!   Unfortunately, David’s
situation is relatable to a lot of people.

UPDATE:  David not only needs a liver, he also needs a kidney and hernia repair which will all be done in the same surgery!  Thank you to all who have donated so far! Keep sharing this message!

Many of you know Connie and David Davies as being two of the most wonderfully generous and loving human spirits!  Well now they need our help!!  David is on the waiting list for a liver transplant.  Just 3 months ago the doctor shared that David would be lucky to be alive within a year without a transplant.  Connie has been by David’s side 110% throughout the stress of this situation and they both continue to be a force of strength and courage!    Sadly, David’s employer stopped paying his salary 4 weeks ago.   Then, on December 2nd, Connie was on her way to pick David up at the ER at 10:30 at night and struck a deer totaling their only car. To say the least,  the past several months have been just been awful for these two! In true Davies fashion, they are trying to keep a sense of humor about it all and not fall apart - but everyday it gets a little harder.    If you can help, no amount is too big or too small.  They need a blessing right now.   Thank you for any donation you can share that will help Connie and David through this difficult time.  Please share this message and help spread the word that our dear friends need our help.
