<div>Most of you know Darren as the guy who makes people laugh. The one who shows up, brings energy into a room, and has spent years supporting others through his work and charity events.

<div>A couple of weeks ago, we thought it was just tonsillitis.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Two weeks later, he was in hospital.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Darren has now been diagnosed with Acute promyelocytic leukaemia, a serious form of blood cancer that requires immediate treatment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>He began chemo on the second day we were here, and this will be ongoing for the next 3–5 months.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At the moment, he is in ICU being closely monitored.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This has all happened very quickly, and we’re still processing it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Right now, everything has stopped.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Darren can’t work.
</div>
<div>There are no gigs, no income, and no clear timeline on when that changes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Everything he’s built, planned, and was working towards has been put on hold.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I’m with him in hospital while also doing my best to keep my business running and life moving outside of this.
</div>

</div>
<div>It’s a lot, and like most people in this situation, we weren’t prepared for it.
</div>

</div>
<div>This part isn’t easy to write.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Darren is usually the one showing up for other people. Quietly supporting fundraisers, giving his time, helping where he can.
</div>

</div>
<div>Now we’re in a position where we need support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’re expecting several months of treatment and recovery, during which Darren won’t be able to work at all.
</div>

</div>
<div>We set a goal to help cover living costs and ease the financial pressure over the coming months while Darren focuses on treatment and recovery.
</div>

</div>
<div>We’ve now reached our initial goal $40k, which we’re incredibly grateful for.
</div>

</div>
<div>Darren’s treatment is ongoing and there are still months ahead, so we’ve updated the goal to help support this next phase.
