Hello, my name is Cathrine and I´ve created this page for a wonderful friend Leopoldo, and I’m reaching out with deep gratitude to anyone who can help save the life of his beloved cat, Colito.
Colito is only 2 years old, and she has brought so much joy, love, and companionship into his life. Sadly, she was born with a serious congenital condition called an extrahepatic shunt. This condition affects her liver and leads to severe neurological issues, preventing her from living the healthy, playful life every animal deserves. She has fits 2 or more times a day and it´s so traumatic to watch her suffer so much. Leopoldo holds her in his arms for at least 15 min while she is convulsing to keep her and make her feel safe.
Why this matters:
Despite her young age, Colito struggles daily. She has trouble processing toxins, which affects her brain and energy levels. But there is hope: surgery can correct the shunt and offer her a full, normal life.
After extensive testing and a CT scan, we’ve confirmed that her body is otherwise healthy — the shunt is the only thing standing in her way.
What we’re raising:
We need to raise €2,000 to cover the cost of the surgery. This includes:
*Pre-op blood work and medication
*The surgery itself
*Post-op care and monitoring
*Flying a vet from Mallorca to Ibiza as no vet in Ibiza can do the procedure
How the funds will be used:
Every euro raised will go directly toward Colito’s medical treatment and recovery. Leo is handling all the logistics myself, and all funds will be transferred to him to pay the veterinary clinic performing the procedure. We will provide proof of this once we can book the surgury with enough funds.
How the funds will be received:
All donations will go into Leo´s personal bank account linked to this GoFundMe, and will be immediately used to cover the cost of Colito’s treatment and surgery once we reach the goal.
Colito still has so much life to live, and this surgery is her only chance to thrive. If you can give — no matter how small — you’re helping change her life forever. And if you can’t give, please share this with others who might be able to help.
