Help Coast Tickets Stay Open During COVID-19

Felicia Behar is well-known throughout Long Beach and Signal Hill as the owner of Coast Tickets . For 20 years, her private retail ticket agency at 2750 E. Spring St. has provided responsive, personalized service for premium seating to concerts, sporting events, live theater productions, and special events around the country. Six months ago, Coast Tickets was recognized by CA State Senator Lena Gonzalez for its 20th anniversary.

However, since our governmental agencies have deemed this type of business “non-essential,” Coast Tickets has been closed down to the public since March 2020. Due to continuing COVID-19 infection risks, they are now saying that there will be no large gatherings (in stadiums, arenas or theaters) in the entire state of California for the foreseen future.

Besides the loss of future ticket sales, because Felicia has had to refund previously placed orders as far back as last year for cancelled events, a significant portion of her 2019 income, as well as all of 2020 has been lost. Despite these circumstances, she is determined to keep her office running and retain her employee of 13 years. Additional business expenses include rent, utilities, insurance, and other financial obligations.

Felicia and her company have remained very involved in the local community, particularly the Signal Hill Chamber of Commerce, where she has received numerous awards, including “Small Business of the Year” and the “Spirit Award.” She has also received many Certificates of Recognition from elected officials for her distinguished achievements and contributions to the local community, such as the “Excellence in Business” award from then-State Senator Ricardo Lara in 2015.

When hearing Felicia’s story at a recent online business gathering, several of her Chamber colleagues were not only saddened on her behalf, but also very inspired by her determination to keep the doors open in the face of extreme hardship. In response, we have pulled together to create a GoFundMe #smallbusinessrelief campaign for Coast Tickets.  At first Felicia was quite unwilling to resort to crowdfunding, but she has reluctantly agreed to allow us to support her business in this way.

Donated funds will initially be applied to such overhead expenses such as commercial rent, utilities, insurance, and payroll. All donations (minus applicable fees) will be directly deposited into Coast Tickets’ bank account, so the Company will have immediate access.

Understandably, Felicia is very disappointed not to celebrate her 20-year anniversary milestone as planned this year. But together, we can all help save her business for a celebration in the future...and she will be very grateful!
