Claudia Castillo Art Studio Needs Your Support

#SmallBusinessRelief

On March 19, 2020, the Florida governor announced that all non-essential businesses were to shut down to prevent the spread of coronavirus.  We never imagined that this situation would go this far and we are trying to cope with the impact this will make to our small business.  We were looking forward to celebrating our 3rd year in business this June and never expected to be in this unprecedented situation.

100% of the proceeds from this GoFundMe will help cover our operational expenses for the next two months so that our art studio  can get through this.  Our gallery is truly being tested now as without having clients to purchase my artwork and the unique items we sell, I have no income to pay the operational expenses during this time of crisis.

In 2009, I began showing my work at the first Island City Art Walk in Wilton Manors.  I fell in love with the Wilton Manors community and have continued exhibiting at the Art Walk Event each year.  It has been a pleasure to meet great people through this process.  I had a goal of opening an art gallery that would provide a cultural venue for everyone to enjoy as they stroll Wilton Drive each night! I am very blessed to be an artist and to have so many people who support and love my work.

The opening of this studio in 2017 was a life-long dream for me especially in a community that has appreciated my work and given me such great opportunity.  I have worked very hard since opening to make the gallery a place for the community to enjoy not only my art but also those of many other artists as well as a place for young artists to be inspired, exhibit, and grow in this profession.  Our monthly events are well known and attended by many who appreciate art by established and emerging artists.

Some may know that I overcome health issues during the first year that the gallery was open. I am no stranger to adversity and believe that together with faith we can overcome any challenge.

So many people have told us that Claudia Castillo ART studio has brought a breath of fresh air and light to the Wilton Drive and that they feel at home at our gallery.  Each of you have become our extended family and we miss the friendly hellos, hugs, disco music and especially your dogs.  We will continue to fight to stay in business, but need your help now more than ever.

Please take care of yourselves and your loved ones first and foremost, but if you are fortunate enough to still be able to work even with the lockdown and can help at all, you will forever have our gratitude.

We are taking this one month at a time, and have faith, strength, and belief that we will continue to keep our art gallery alive in Wilton Manors.

With love,
Claudia Castillo
