Help CJ Recover From Ruptured Aneurysm

This is CJ Backlund – loving father, husband and brother; great friend; and protector of nightlife-goers of San Francisco.
On the night of June 9th CJ’s wife found him on the bed convulsing and non-responsive. Paramedics were called, and he was taken to the hospital, where a CT scan assessed the situation: A ruptured aneurysm. He was rushed by ambulance to Stanford hospital and was immediately operated on.
CJ spent the first three weeks in the ICU in a coma recovering from the aneurysm and the operation, but also fighting off complications like a pneumonia, a blood clot in the leg as well as more than one stroke in the brain. He has been on a ventilator to help him breathe, and had a tracheotomy, but is now breathing on his own. CJ is a strong man but the aneurysm and the strokes have taken a toll on his body and brain, and we are looking at months and years of rehabilitation. CJ is not eligible for long term care in the United States, but can't recover from the serious brain injury without around the Clock care, daily therpy and rehabilitation. We have therefore no other option than to transfer CJ to his native Finland, where he will be cared for in a hospital and receive therapy and rehab services. It is for this transfer and the rehabilitation that we are raising money.
There has been an outpour of love for CJ and his family, and now we are humbly asking to turn that love into $.

CJ moved to the Bay Area in 2011 from Finland. He played American Football on the Finnish national team and moved here to study and play for the Gladiators, the Chabot Junior College football team. He immediately fell in love – first with the Bay Area and then with his now-wife Tatiana. In October 2017 CJ and Tati welcomed their daughter Amelia to the world. CJ is also brother to Lotta, son to Mari and uncle to Adele.
CJ has by many of his childhood friends been described as the kindest person in the world. It may therefore be seen as interesting that he ended up finding his vocation taking care or the safety of partiers of San Francisco. He has worked as Head of security, a bouncer and a guard, and is well liked by colleagues, bosses and customers alike. He keeps party goers safe and makes sure everybody can have a great time without worries.
He is our very own Viking soldier, who always helps anyone who needs help. Now it’s our turn to ask for help for CJ.
