Help Cinderella Go From Stage to Screen

We’re asking for your support to bring an innovative new piece of children’s theater to the small screen! We’re hoping to raise $4,500 to produce a cartoon opera that turns the classic fairy-tale on its head with an anticipated release in Fall 2021.
Cinderella: A Children's Opera, adapted by Grace Kane and T.P. Huth, began life as a celebrated stage play with productions at Towson University and Annapolis Opera. In early 2020, plans were being made to present a live production of Cinderella, but due to the Covid-19 pandemic our plans had to shift. Now we have the unique opportunity to produce an illustrated movie version of the show to serve as an exciting introduction to the world of opera for kids of all ages!
This show was born out of a wish to create theater that educates and enriches children’s lives through opera using well-known stories. Cinderella explores themes of communication, acceptance, and responsibility all wrapped up in a family-friendly package and featuring musical selections from some of Gilbert and Sullivan’s most popular operettas.
In addition to the movie, we will be working with experienced educators to create lesson plans and educational materials to provide kids the opportunity to interact with concepts presented in the show and learn more about music and theater.
After being involved in children’s theater for many years, we've witnessed first-hand the joy that these stories bring to children’s faces. We have a vision for what this show could mean to so many kids and families, but we do not have the financial means to make our vision a reality. Therefore, the success of this production is dependent on the generosity of people like you.
