First off, thank you for even reading this.
This began as a starter to get me back to school for my last year of college after having to take a year off for chemotherapy and other medical procedures on the vascular malformation in my leg. I owe the ability to finish my education to all the people on this page and in my life. I worked full time while I was away from school as I’ve done since I was 16, and I’m so endlessly grateful to those involved.
The reason why I had to increase the goal is because despite coming back school, my leg issues haven’t subsided. After 10 surgeries, years of being on narcotics, and every other possible thing you can imagine, my pain management doctors told me my only other option was to amputate, which would involve having to leave school again and 1-2 years of rehab. A revolutionary ketamine treatment suggested by some of my doctors that not only treats chronic pain, but also ptsd and depression(of which I fit the trifecta! :) ) has honestly saved my life. Ketamine started being researched about 20 years ago as a solution for veterans with chronic pain as well as resistant PTSD and depression, and had magnificent results. I am so lucky to have been able to even get a consultation with the people that run the ketamine treatment clinic.
I restarted the campaign and increased the goal since none of it is covered by insurance, and not only is it helping me delay amputation, but it’s helping me life a funcional life for the first time in what feels like forever. I’m so sorry to have to ask for help but I’m currently working full time and trying to complete my goal of applying to law school to be a prosecutor of sexual assault and domestic abuse. I can't complete the full cycle of treatments(approx $10-11k) that are necessary without your help. All the money I make goes to my school and living-related bills or healthcare.
