Hello, my name is Christina. Over the past year, my life has changed dramatically. Due to severe spine issues, I am now permanently in a wheelchair. While I work every day to stay positive, the truth is that my current situation has made simple, everyday tasks incredibly difficult.

One of my biggest challenges is transportation. Without a wheelchair-accessible van, I am unable to safely and independently travel to doctor appointments, physical therapy, the grocery store, family gatherings, or even just enjoy a day outside my home. Relying on others for every ride has taken away much of my independence, and it has been emotionally and physically exhausting. Either my husband or son has to take off work to come and help me get my chair off the truck, or I have to schedule with my sister for her to come help get my chair down.

A wheelchair van would give me back a sense of freedom and dignity. It would allow me to live more fully, take care of essential needs, and remain connected with my family, friends, and community. Unfortunately, wheelchair vans are very expensive, and this is not something I can manage on my own.

I am humbly reaching out for help. Every donation — no matter how small — will bring me closer to being able to afford a wheelchair-accessible van. I am not looking to get a new van.
