Help Christa reestablish housing

Dear generous souls of the world,  my friend and co worker Christa, who is a single mother of two very clever and sensitive children has found herself and her children in dire straights after being evicted from her rental unit because the landlord has decided to demo the residence and sell the property.

Christa works full time, but like many low and middle income people here in Santa Cruz who are also now realizing this challenge, Christa finds herself unable to afford the prerequisite first and last rental deposits nor the unusually high security deposits required to establish any type of legal residency here in Santa Cruz.

Christa cannot choose to leave the area because the father of her children (who recently became completely disabled and unable to provide any child support) was able to have it legally required that she and her children stay in the area. The county of Santa Cruz recently informed Christa that she and her children must stay in the Santa Cruz County area. 

Because of these legal restrictions,  her current options are: 1) To become a homeless family living on the streets of Santa Cruz, or 2) Face the possibility of severe legal repercussions and possibly losing her children to foster care simply for trying to provide them a better,  safer life somewhere outside of the Santa Cruz California area.  She is in a difficult position to say the least.

Soon, in less than one week, Christa and her 2 innocent children will find themselves living out of one very tiny automobile on the streets of Santa Cruz with winter approaching...

Christa and her kids need our help right now.

We have found a local property where we can set her family up with a self contained trailer. We have the place. Now we need to raise sufficient funds to get them safely settled into a reliable used trailer before winter arrives.

Our assistance now can help Christa save up enough cash in the near future to re establish a more traditional housing situation for herself and her children while she is legally obligated to remain in Santa Cruz, California.
