<div>Hi, my name is Chris Thompson, and I was recently diagnosed with pharyngeal cancer. The cancer started at the back of my throat and then spread to the lymph nodes in the right side of my neck. I’m scheduled to begin radiation treatment and chemotherapy in the next two weeks.

<div>I have two kids, Salem and Rowan, ages 15 and 12. I am a columnist for Gods and Radicals, and am the author of the books Pagan Anarchism, The Book of Onei, and If in Ruins We Must Live. I am also the founder of the Cateran Society, a group dedicated to the study of Highland broadsword fencing, and the author of Lessons of the Broadsword Masters and several other books on that topic. I am also one of the co-founders of Clann Bhríde.

<div>My prognosis is good, but I have to go to so many appointments that it is interfering with my ability to work as a freelance writer. I’ve only been able to work minimally since receiving my diagnosis, and once I start chemotherapy, the fatigue will probably make it harder to get work done. Your donations will help me and my family to get through this time when our income is much lower than normal.
