Help Chris pay down his medical bills!
Chris Nichols has received a devastating diagnosis of stage4 bone marrow cancer. He is currently undergoing chemo cancer treatments and we pray he will beat this and come back to work better than ever, but he has a long road ahead of him!
Chris has worked for Smokey Shay’s for 8+ years, and was currently serving as the general manager for all 3 triad locations when he received his diagnosis. Thankfully he is being well taken care of since he signed up for our company health insurance plan last November. Chris chose the high deductible plan so he owes $6500 deductible and then $7900 max out of pocket for this calendar year which ends in December. We have already raised close to his deductible with in store fund raisers, and hope to cover his max out of pocket as well so he will not need to worry about the medical bills that are coming. His insurance has been covered by us for the next 3 months, but he will also need to cover the cobra payments after October… that is approximately another $400 per month. On top of that I am sure he has other personal bills that need to be covered as well.
Cancer doesn’t discriminate, and we are devastated by the news, but if we can handle the burden of the monetary expenses, Chris can focus on healing and staying healthy. We have in store fund raisers going on at all 3 locations where 100% of the money will go directly to Chris, but I made this gofundme for those who are not local and wish to help out here!
