Help Chris Page Beat Cancer

Donation protected

That is my mom. That beautiful woman with the gorgeous white hair and contagious smile.  Although she is 35 pounds lighter than she was just over 1.5 years ago when she was diagnosed with breast cancer, she is still my strong and beautiful mom.

"I have some not so good news" she said in a very monotone voice.  "I found a lump, and It turns out I have breast cancer."  Tears strolled down my face as the word hit me like a tidal wave.  Not the news I was expecting as we visited that cold winter day.  "It's okay" she consoled me, my mom, the one who has been diagnosed with cancer.  "Breast cancer has an excellent survival rate, I'll beat this.  They say it is probably slow growing."

Fast forward a few months and a full mastectomy...the 'slow moving' cancer has spread viciously into her bones and her vertabrae, causing her crippling pain.  Her 'slow' moving cancer all of a sudden has legs and is quickly making its way through her now frail body and has landed in her liver - a central station that will allow the cancer to move freely throughout her body if not dealt with pronto.

The most recent recommendation from the oncologist is chemotherapy, which up until this point had not been recommended.  However my mom is so thin and weak, she is fearful that traditional chemotherapy might be the beginning of the end for her current state.

It has been recommended then to pursue SEF chemo which is not offered here in Canada.   The clinic in Berkeley, California has offered to take her in this Monday to start treatments, realizing that at this point, it is urgent.

We are asking for your help as the treatment costs are astronomical. They will have to pay for flights, accommodations and food during a 4 month period + all the treatments which amount to an enormous sum. If you are in a position to help my mom in fighting cancer and surviving to watch her grandkids grow - please donate.

Thank you for your kindness.

This is a video I made for my mom for her 65th,  6 months after her diagnosis. I wanted to share it here so you could see the impact she has made on our family and the beautiful little change makers she created with my father - her grandchildren.

These are her 7 change makers - all brought to this earth to help carry on the values and love that she has shared with our family.
