The story follows Paris, a beloved chef using cooking to reconnect with his guarded daughter, Chicago.

To Cook or not to Cook stars Welèla Mar Kindred, Stacey A. Griffin and K'Lynn Holden.

China L. Colston is a proud member of the actor's union SAG-AFTRA and is repped by Five Star Talent Management and Firestarter Entertainment talent agency. She was born and raised in Chicago and pursued acting more than 20 years ago, hoping to move audiences like other actors have moved her. She may fall short at times, but she'll never be guilty of not trying.

Acting, screenwriting, and filmmaking light up the artistic part of her soul. Her filmmaking vision is to pen and produce narratives centered mostly around complicated yet relatable American-Black characters, under the genres of romantic dramas and family dramas.

She has written, produced, and acted in 6 of her eight screenplays produced in Chicago and here in New York. In truth, none of the above screenplays would have materialized into films without the village of actors, crew and donors. TO COOK OR NOT TO COOK website

In 2021, Award-Winning Filmmaker China L. Colston completed her feature length screenplay, TO COOK OR NOT TO COOK, which led to her being gifted with a $5,000 City Arts Corps grant from the New York Foundation of the Arts organization. She is tremendously grateful to GOD that this grant positioned her to cover the cost of producing a public dramatic reading of the script at Ripley Grier studios in Manhattan for an audience to experience and offer constructive feedback. She was humbled and thrilled at the audience's favorable reaction. In this season, she is seeking business sponsorships, grants and individual donations to cover the $150,000 micro budget. Overall, she would love to shoot the film during the summer and or autumn of 2025 or at the latest the spring of 2026.

Without doubt, her most meaningful artistic achievement is her award-winning feature film DARK SEED, wherein she wore the hats of screenwriter, director, producer and lead actress. Much to her delight, it can now be streamed on Peacocktv, Prime Video, Tubi and Freevee, through her digital distribution deal with Maverick Entertainment Group.
