Help Children of Syrian Refugees!

https://vimeo.com/290631114   Hi!  I’m Julie Kreutzer, an ordinary citizen like you.   I’ve been horrified at what Syrian children have been through, particularly the refugees and wanted to help.  I became active in this project because my friend and neighbor, Elena,  became involved with Butterfly Effect Center (BEC) which provides education and food for refugee kids in the refugee camps in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon.  Elena and has tutored these kids in two trips to the camps at her own expense and continues to tutor them at night via Skype.    I have helped her raise funds for food, heating oil and educational supplies  to assist the kids so that we wouldn’t have to tap into funds needed by the Butterfly Effect Center.  At this point, we are raising money directly for the Butterfly Effect Center because their main source of funds has shut down, which means the BEC will shut down in little over a month unless we can come up with more funding. Our goal if met, will pay for a year of education and extra food for 125 kids. The children of Syrian refugees who you see in the photos and video are living in refugee camps.  Before BEC arrived they had very little food, little to do and nothing to look forward to; everything changed with weekly lessons in computer programming, art, music, writing, reading and study of other cultures.  They enjoy their studies, they get regular supplemental food and they are getting caught up academically.  They now envision  a life beyond the camps and a future that includes careers.  They are learning skills that they can use for the future and are learning to cooperate and interrelate like children rather than traumatized survivors.  It’s a huge difference from when we started this effort.  Please help us continue to help these children.
