<div>This December I’m taking on a personal challenge to help raise funds for Lisa Finlay Primary School in Ghana, a school I volunteered at over 10 years ago and have remained closely connected to ever since.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Throughout the entire month of December I am cycling every single day
</div>
<div>1st = 1km
</div>
<div>2nd = 2km
</div>
<div>3rd = 3km
</div>
<div>20th = 20km
</div>
<div>and so on with the distance increasing daily right through to the 31st of December. Totalling almost 500km.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What feels like a physical challenge for me represents the daily effort many children face just to access basic needs such as water and education.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Recent flooding has caused significant damage to the school buildings leaving classrooms unsafe and unusable. As a result many children are currently unable to attend school.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Education is often the safest and most stable part of a child’s life and right now that has been taken away.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>100% of donations will go directly to supporting the children and the school.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>£60 ($120 AUD) pays for a full year of education for one child.
</div>
<div>Donations will also contribute to replacing the damaged roofing, allowing classrooms to reopen so children can return to learning safely.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My volunteer experience at Lisa Finlay Primary School taught me a lesson I’ve never forgotten. Joy can come from the smallest things - a classroom an exercise book and the opportunity to learn.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Despite having so little the children smile laugh and show up every day ready to learn. They deserve a safe place to do so.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you’re able to donate even a small amount you will be directly helping children get back into the classroom and back to learning.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you so much for your time kindness and support.
</div>
