<div>This fundraiser was set up to help a <strong>six-year-old disabled child refugee called Wissam</strong> get desperately-needed medical treatment.
</div>

<div>We met him living rough in Calais with his family - who had to leave Syria during the Civil War after being targeted as Kurds.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Wissam had <strong>Bloom’s Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder</strong>. When we met him his big sister had already died from complications of the condition.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>His parents were in Calais trying to reach specialist Bloom's doctors in the UK.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Despite all our efforts to help the family, after 14 years of Conservative migration policies, there were no safe and legal routes left that could help him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>His family took the dangerous decision to travel by dinghy across the Channel to the UK in a last bid to save his life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are sorry to say that he died at Great Ormond Street a few days ago.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are now raising money to help the family with their asylum claim so they can stay near to Wissam's grave, and with belongings.
</div>

</div>
<div>They have a new baby, who was born in Calais just before they crossed – and they arrived in the UK with just the clothes they were standing up in.
</div>
